İTO Meclisinde Güçlü Mesaj
“Türkiye Artık Avrupa’nın Yönünü Belirleyen Stratejik Güç”
İstanbul Ticaret Odası’nın 14 Mayıs 2026 Perşembe günü gerçekleştirilen Mayıs Ayı Meclis Toplantısı’nda konuşan İTO Başkanı Şekib Avdagiç, küresel ekonomide yaşanan dönüşüm sürecinde Türkiye’nin kritik rolüne dikkat çekti.
Avdagiç, Türkiye’nin artık yalnızca bölgesel değil; Avrupa’nın ekonomik güvenliği, üretim kapasitesi ve tedarik zinciri açısından belirleyici ülkelerden biri haline geldiğini vurguladı.
Küresel ticaret dengelerinin yeniden kurulduğu bir dönemde Türkiye’nin önüne “tarihsel fırsat penceresi” açıldığını belirten Avdagiç, asıl meselenin bu fırsatları stratejik dönüşüme çevirebilmek olduğunu söyledi.
Türkiye Yeni Dünyanın Üretim Üssü Olabilir
“Menüde Değil, Masada Olan Ülke”
İTO Başkanı Şekib Avdagiç, Türkiye’nin yalnızca transit geçiş noktası değil; enerji, lojistik, sanayi ve ticaretin kesişim merkezi olabilecek kapasiteye sahip olduğunu ifade etti.
Özellikle Orta Koridor, Kalkınma Yolu, Karadeniz lojistiği ve Doğu Akdeniz bağlantılarının Türkiye’yi küresel ticaretin merkez ülkelerinden biri yapabileceğini belirten Avdagiç, şu mesajı verdi:
“Türkiye artık menüde değil, masada yer alan aktörlerden biridir.”
Avrupa’nın üretim güvenliği arayışında Türkiye’nin stratejik partner konumuna yükseldiğine dikkat çekilen toplantıda; elektrikli araçlar, batarya teknolojileri, yeşil çelik, temiz enerji ekipmanları ve savunma sanayiinde Türkiye’nin kritik rol üstlenebileceği ifade edildi.
İTO’dan Kritik Uyarı
“Sorun Sadece Enflasyon Değil”
Mayıs ayı meclis toplantısında ekonomiye ilişkin dikkat çeken değerlendirmelerde bulunan Şekib Avdagiç, Türkiye’nin temel probleminin yalnızca enflasyon olmadığını söyledi.
Özellikle üretim maliyetlerinin verimlilik artışını aşmasının ve emek yoğun sektörlerde rekabet gücünün azalmasının en önemli risklerden biri olduğuna dikkat çeken Avdagiç, Türk sanayisinin tüm zorluklara rağmen üretmeye devam ettiğini belirtti.
Yüksek faiz, finansmana erişim sorunları ve enerji maliyetlerine rağmen reel sektörün fedakârlıkla ayakta kaldığını söyleyen Avdagiç, Türkiye’nin rekabetçiliğini kaybetmeden büyümesini sürdürmesi gerektiğini ifade etti.
“Türkiye’nin Tüccarı Beyaz Atlı Prens Gibi Mücadele Ediyor”
İTO Meclisi’nde en dikkat çeken mesajlardan biri de KOBİ’ler ve tüccarlara yönelik oldu.
Şekib Avdagiç, Anadolu’nun üreticisi ve tüccarının tüm ekonomik zorluklara rağmen pes etmediğini belirterek şu ifadeleri kullandı:
“Kimse kurtarıcı beklemiyor. Herkes kendi çözümünü üretmeye çalışıyor. Türkiye’nin tüccarı, Türkiye’nin beyaz atlı prensleridir.”
Bu sözler, salonda büyük yankı uyandırırken; üretim, ihracat ve istihdamın arkasındaki gerçek gücün sahadaki girişimciler olduğu mesajı öne çıktı.
İhracatta Türkiye Etkisi
“Batılı Pazarların İlk Tercihi Türkiye”
Nisan ayında ihracatta yaşanan güçlü yükselişi değerlendiren Şekib Avdagiç, Batılı ülkelerin ani tedarik ihtiyaçlarında ilk adres olarak Türkiye’ye yöneldiğini söyledi.
Türkiye’nin coğrafi avantajı, üretim altyapısı ve hızlı tedarik kabiliyeti sayesinde küresel sistemde öne çıktığını belirten Avdagiç, bu yükselişin kalıcı hale gelmesi gerektiğini vurguladı.
Yatırım Hamlesine Destek
“Türkiye Yüzyılı Vizyonuna Güç Katacak”
İTO Başkanı Şekib Avdagiç, Cumhurbaşkanı Recep Tayyip Erdoğan tarafından açıklanan “Türkiye Yüzyılı: Yatırım İçin Güçlü Merkez Programı”nı desteklediklerini belirtti.
Yeni vergi teşvikleri, yatırım dostu düzenlemeler ve dijital dönüşüm desteklerinin Türkiye’nin küresel rekabet gücünü artıracağını ifade eden Avdagiç, özellikle imalatçı ihracatçılar için sağlanan avantajların üretime önemli katkı sunacağını söyledi.
İTO Meclisinden Güçlü Vizyon Mesajı
İstanbul Ticaret Odası’nın Mayıs ayı meclis toplantısı, yalnızca ekonomik değerlendirmelerin yapıldığı bir oturum değil; aynı zamanda Türkiye’nin yeni küresel düzende üstlenebileceği role ilişkin güçlü vizyon mesajlarının verildiği stratejik bir platform oldu.
Toplantıda öne çıkan ortak mesaj ise netti:
Türkiye, üretimiyle, ticaretiyle, lojistik gücüyle ve girişimci ruhuyla yeni dönemin en kritik ülkelerinden biri olmaya hazırlanıyor.

“Türkiye Is Now a Strategic Power Shaping Europe’s Direction”
Speaking at the May 2026 Assembly Meeting of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, ITO President Şekib Avdagiç highlighted Türkiye’s critical role in the ongoing transformation of the global economy.
Avdagiç emphasized that Türkiye is no longer merely a regional actor, but has become one of the decisive countries in terms of Europe’s economic security, production capacity, and supply chains.
Pointing out that a “historic window of opportunity” has opened before Türkiye during this period of global trade realignment, Avdagiç stated that the real challenge is transforming these opportunities into strategic advantages.
Türkiye Could Become the Production Hub of the New World
“A Country Sitting at the Table, Not on the Menu”
ITO President Şekib Avdagiç stated that Türkiye is not merely a transit route, but a country with the potential to become the intersection point of energy, logistics, industry, and trade.
Highlighting the Middle Corridor, the Development Road Project, Black Sea logistics, and Eastern Mediterranean connections, Avdagiç noted that these initiatives could position Türkiye among the world’s major trade hubs.
He delivered the following striking message:
“Türkiye is no longer on the menu, but among the actors sitting at the table.”
During the meeting, it was also emphasized that Türkiye is becoming a strategic partner for Europe’s production security, especially in electric vehicles, battery technologies, green steel, clean energy equipment, and the defense industry.
Critical Warning from the ITO
“The Problem Is Not Only Inflation”
Making remarkable evaluations regarding the economy during the May assembly meeting, Şekib Avdagiç stated that Türkiye’s primary economic challenge is not limited to inflation alone.
He underlined that one of the most serious risks is the rise in production costs surpassing productivity growth, alongside the decline in competitiveness in labor-intensive sectors.
Despite high interest rates, financing difficulties, and increasing energy costs, Avdagiç stated that Turkish industry continues to produce with determination and sacrifice. He stressed that Türkiye must continue its growth journey without losing its competitive strength.
“Türkiye’s Merchants Are Fighting Like White Knights”
One of the most memorable messages of the ITO Assembly was directed toward SMEs and merchants.
Şekib Avdagiç emphasized that producers and traders across Anatolia continue their struggle despite economic hardships, stating:
“Nobody is waiting for a savior. Everyone is trying to create their own solution. Türkiye’s merchants are the white knights of Türkiye.”
These words resonated strongly in the hall, reinforcing the idea that the true driving force behind production, exports, and employment is the entrepreneurial spirit on the ground.
Türkiye’s Growing Impact on Exports
“Türkiye Is the First Choice of Western Markets”
Evaluating the strong increase in exports recorded in April, Şekib Avdagiç stated that Western countries are increasingly turning to Türkiye as their first destination for urgent supply needs.
He emphasized that Türkiye is gaining prominence in the global system thanks to its geographical advantage, industrial infrastructure, and rapid supply capability, adding that this momentum should be transformed into long-term success.
Support for the Investment Initiative
“It Will Strengthen the Vision of the Century of Türkiye”
ITO President Şekib Avdagiç expressed support for the “Century of Türkiye: Strong Investment Hub Program” announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Avdagiç stated that new tax incentives, investment-friendly regulations, and digital transformation support packages would strengthen Türkiye’s global competitiveness. He also noted that the incentives provided for manufacturing exporters would significantly contribute to domestic production.

The May Assembly Meeting of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce was not merely a platform for economic evaluations; it also became a strategic forum where strong vision messages regarding Türkiye’s future role in the new global order were delivered.
The common message emerging from the meeting was clear:
